If you asked any of us today why we spend so much time and effort building Ayazona, you’d get an answer along these lines… “we are driven by the goal to empower our communities …”. But what does that really mean to us?
Coming from a technical view, we strongly believe in harnessing the knowledge and tools we have at our disposal and using it to positively impact our communities through developing sustainable and scalable systems which will in turn create better opportunities, thus amplifying the capabilities of each community member.
At the beginning of 2019, we piloted an internal program, Ayazona Ignite. The goal of this program is to help us amplify our positive impact on our communities and on merchants that we end up working with in the future. We believe in the importance of unlocking all the good our communities inherently possess while uncovering innovative solutions to reduce environmental impacts while combating complex, pervasive issues. We are on a journey to build a community where nobody should have to worry about where their next meal is coming from.
Customer convenience is at the core of our designs, we want to bring you whatever you need whenever and wherever you need it, but part of our core drive is to empower local businesses and in turn, generate new ways for the local small businesses to thrive.
How are we doing this?
This is a journey for us, and we can’t wait to see how much we end up achieving, but most importantly we can’t wait to see how many lives we end up impacting positively. At the moment this is what we are doing at Ayazona Ignite.
- First protect the environment: From the start we decided to make informed, sustainable choices for the longevity of our environment, it is what we have for the longest term.
- Offer an enabling platform that helps bring more local cuisines to our customers. An approach that not only amplifies our African culture but also empowers local chefs.
- Creating job opportunities not only in tech but also in other fields. Tech is key for us, because we understand that through technology, so much can be improved.
These types of community-driven impacts would normally come up at the end of the first or second year of business, but we chose to integrate this right into our core plans, which explains why the community impact is always at the core of everything we believe in.
We’re always searching for new better ways that we can involve the communities in which we operate, if you are interested in joining us in this program or want to benefit from it or maybe you just want to volunteer, let us know! For more information about our volunteer program click here.
Together, we can be a force for a better Africa.
